Rosie has been attending the Scots Fiddle Festival since 2009 (and performed a recital with her band ' Chloe's passion' in 2013) After being a member of the Midlothian Ceilidh Trail under Mike Vass’ tuition, Rosie was inspired to study music and gained a place on the BMus Folk and Traditional Music course at Newcastle University where Catriona Macdonald was her main fiddle tutor. After graduating in June 2016, she moved back home to Midlothian and soon became involved in volunteering with the festival. She is now continuing her studies at Queen Margaret University on the MA Arts, Festival and Cultural Management course and currently plays with 'Amer/Hawksworth/Munro' who have recently released their first EP. Rosie has taken on the role of Artistic Director of the Scots Fiddle Festival after Eilidh Steel left the role in December and she is really excited to get started on programming this year's festival. We are also delighted to welcome Malcolm Gillies as the new Chair of the Scots Fiddle Festival. Malcolm was the founder and director of Eskmills the Commercial Propertry Company (from which he has now retired), was involved in Scottish Rugby and 6 Nations Committee, and created and was previous Chairman of the innovative and ground breaking Inch Park Community Sports Club, as well as many other projects. He currently Chairs Foxlake Adventures CIC, and mentors other community organisations. He has been a volunteer with the Scots Fiddle Festival for over 10 years, so you are sure to have seen him around. He is passionate about traditional music and as well as attending a fiddle class at Scots Music Group, he also plays in the Lismore Ceilidh Band
