A2: Aonghas Grant - Highland Tunes - Buy tickets
Beginner workshop Room 2 10 – 11.30am Aonghas Grant's fiddle career spans more than six decades, and he is still very active as a soloist, teacher, workshop leader, and session participant. He has been playing the fiddle since he was thirteen years old, learning many tunes from his uncle and his father. Intermediate/Advanced workshop Room 1 12pm - 1.30pm This workshop will focus on Chris' own compositions over the last 20 years, looking more closely at some tunes with unusual rhythmic features and time signatures. A4: Aidan O’Rourke - Trad Fiddle with a twist - Buy tickets Advanced Workshop Room 2 12.00-1.30pm With an Irish ancestry, O'Rourke grew up in the Highland port of Oban, his family settling later to the Island of Seil. His earliest years were coloured by the sound of Irish traditional music played in the home by his father, and he began formal training on the fiddle at the age of eight. As a teacher, Patsy incorporates classical technique into her lessons, focusing particularly on bow control, dexterity and tone. A pupil of the late Dr Tom Anderson MBE, Catriona at once embodies the strength and spirit of her heritage with the freshness and diversity of a thoroughly modern performer. Her playing has established her a worldwide reputation. From 1998-2011 Catriona was a member of Blazin` Fiddles, and in January 2000 she created String Sisters. B7: Paul Anderson - North East fiddle tunes - Buy Tickets Advanced Workshop Room 3 2pm - 3.30pm Paul Anderson comes from Tarland in Aberdeenshire and is one of Scotland's most acclaimed traditional fiddle players. A pupil of Golden Fiddle Award winning violinist Douglas Lawrence he won the Glenfiddich Scottish Fiddle Championship in 1995 and has since had three of his pupils win the same event. Y1: Lucy MacRae - Fun tunes for beginners - Buy tickets
Beginner workshop Room 3 10am - 11.30am Lucy plays a wide range of Scottish and Irish tunes and is an experienced fiddle tutor. Her playing has been influenced by time spent learning music in the Highlands and Islands and also in Ireland, where she obtained a Masters from the Irish World Academy of Irish Music and Dance, Limerick. * Unfortunately Lucy is unable to teach this workshop, instead Darragh Quinn will be teaching. This workshop is in association with Fèis Dhùn Èideann, which has been providing tuition in traditional music, Gaelic Song and Step Dancing to children aged 8 -18 in Edinburgh since 1995.

Y2: Pàdruig Morrison - Mixed Instrument workshop - Buy tickets
Open to all levels workshop Room 3 12pm - 1.30pm Pàdruig is a multi-instrumentalist from the Isle of Grimsay in the Outer Hebrides and is part of the band Causeway Trio. He attended St Mary's Music school in Edinburgh and is currently studying music at Edinburgh University. This workshop is for all levels, working on tunes, rhythms and chords and playing together as a band. Note that tunes players with less experience will learn simple accompaniments. This workshop is in association with Fèis Dhùn Èideann, which has been providing tuition in traditional music, Gaelic Song and Step Dancing to children
